2024. 7 – Strong sunshine and tough days
We didn’t receive any rain in July. It was tough for trees and we regularly irrigated them, however, the soils have become dry soon. The leaves of coffees look tired and even weeds didn’t come back this dry season.
2024. 8 – Umuganura in Rwanda
“Umuganura” is Rwandan tradition taken place in the beginning of August to celebrate the first harvest of the season. Coincidentally we sometimes receive the rain during the same period. This year, we luckily received a heavy rain just a week after Umuganura.
2024. 9 – The change of season
Rainy season is just around corner. Normally flowering season of coffee is Aug-Sep in Rwanda. But the coffee trees in our farm are still young, and they still have grown randomly. We observe some flowers, green cherries and red cherries at the same time in the field. Each one is precious and potential for us.
